it has been an emotional four weeks. it seems like they have both flown by & lasted forever all at the same time. we have settled into a routine that allows us to see him a great deal & that is another reason that we are thankful. dr. sutter & the nurses that take care of garron are so wonderful & we continue to be amazed by the way they love & care for our son. eventhough we can't wait for him to come home, we know he is right where he is supposed to be.

NICU week 4!!! september 6 to september 12
week 4 was an exciting week! garron learned to pick his nose! :) no, really he did. here's proof! (a little humor to start this week!)
he also had many, many sweet sleeping moments. as he is growing, he seems more comfortable (except when he is having trouble making poop!) he is stronger & can position himself a little to wiggle into really comfortable sleep positions. it is really wonderful to watch him literally grow. he is so beautiful, we are totally & hopelessly in love.
another big thing was that garron crossed the THREE POUND threshold this week! what a great day! good job growing little buddy. he also got a big boy paci (sort of like a reward for his weight gain!)

there were more water baths this week! eventhough we have done several of these, they continue to be some of our favorite times with garron. i am not sure if i have said before, but during these, the monitor leads are removed & we just get to be with our baby without the machines! there is no beeping, no numbers to watch neurotically, just our sweet, perfect boy! justin was not feeling 100% this week, so you will notice that he is not in these pictures-- he was there, just didn't interact with the buddy much. i will also report that the big buddy is feeling much better! :)
there was also more kangaroo time. as he is getting older, we get to hold him more. i love this-- i could hold him forever i think!

on saturday garron celebrated 4 weeks in this world! what an AMAZING day!!! he now weighs 3 pounds 3.2 ounces-- he has almost gained one pound! he looks like he is filling out. he has face & butt cheeks! :) the ridge on top of his skull that overlapped very prominately at birth has almost disappeared. also, one of the hats he first wore was almost too small when we put it on him after his bath. we are so proud of how strong & determined he is & are so thankful that God's Hand is there with him holding him close.

Oh I know you just can't wait for him to come home and just be with him. But you are so right. He is where he needs to be. I continue to pray for you guys. Keep this blog up even after you are home. Document daily things and let it be like your scrapbook for him. We have one and it is wonderful. www.hillbunch.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI am able to print them into book form and have it forever. Love you girl and take care of yourself. If you need anything that i can mail you or help you with please let me know. You can visit our blog as well and see our family in action:D
Hey girl,
ReplyDeleteI have put you in my friends and blog post list so everytime you post a new post I will get an alert:D
I use www.blurb.com to print mine. It is alittle more pricey but well worth it. They do a great job. You just go to the site and download blurb booksmart. then it will instruct you on what to do next. Be sure to choose the make a blog book or scrapbook your blog one. Then it will upload all of your blog posts itself. Then you can go in and customize.:D
There is also www.scrapblog.com It is nice too
It is soooo much easier than scrapbooking and it is done on photo paper so it will last forever. It is also a way to capture every single moment without having to go have you pictures developed
Yayyyyy, I am so glad I can keep in touch now and you can do the same, in blogger world.
